- Freezer rooms: heat from a light source is located outside the room eliminating the need to cool the lamp.
- Rooms with sensitive electronic equipment such as MRI rooms, radar antenna testing rooms,
and laboratories: electrical light source is located outside of room eliminating electrical interference.
- Swimming pools, atrium spaces and escalators: the light source can be located in a convenient location for re-lamping and maintenance.
